Technicians Update

February 17, 2021

 Brothers and Sisters,

After the round of layoffs in October it became clear that members needed an option to return to their respective bid areas if they so choose. There is no contractual provision to allow for this however. The Company after speaking with us, and with many of you, also recognized the problem. As a result, we were able to come to an agreement which resulted in an LOA that will be implemented upon ratification by the membership. The constitution of the IBT requires a ratification on LOAs such as this one that change the terms of the current CBA. Please read the LOA and the associated FAQs. If you agree this change needs to be made, please vote yes. Conversely, if you believe the change should not be made indicate that by voting no.

BallotPoint is conducting the ratification vote for the IBT as in the past. There will be an option to either vote by phone or via the internet. Please look for instructions in the mail which you should begin receiving next week. Voting will remain open for twenty-one days from the date the ballots are mailed. Duplicate ballot requests will begin to be accepted about two weeks after voting begins and will be sent via text or email depending on your preference. Once the ballots are tallied a notice will be sent out.

If there are any questions, please contact your Busines Agents or Chief Stewards.
